Okay, so forever ago I promised myself to post follow-ups to events, and I’m really going to try!
Last Friday I attended my first in-person event since 2019, up in Rochester. The Zine Fest was held by the Institute of Technology, and they made a lovely little set up in the entrance to I think a student lounge building– because a food area was down the hall.
It was a short event, 10am-1pm, but perfect for me to dip my toes back in the water of tabling.

Of course, I didn’t get into my artist alley tub until the night before, and for the life of me couldn’t find my tablecloths (I think I have a second tub of convention goodies that is still currently MIA– but I’m going to hunt for it this weekend). That is probably my biggest pet peeve, because it’s a table basic to carry a cloth in case the venue, like this one, doesn’t have them– but I think my zine arrangement turned out nicely without hauling my wire book shelf. I wanted to pack light and focus on the zines and books, since I was by myself and this was a new event.
The fest went quite well, I sat next to an amazing zine creator, Odin, and I got to catch up with Fawndolyn from IFWIT Zines, and I sold quite a few books. Always a good show when you meet good people and part with wares. 😀
Everyone at the show was so nice, from the staff and crowd to the other creators, I would love to do this event again if they have it again next year!
If you’d like to buy any of my zines that I had at the show, they’re now up on my Etsy, and links for my published books are below. 🙂
TGIF!
