Hello friends!
It’s officially Summer, and it is shaping up to be a busy one! Last week the applications for this year’s MCC Zines annual anthology opened, and this week submissions for the Summer Digital Zine (Dragon’s Dance, releasing for Smaugust!) opened: https://forms.gle/KxEsPh7J1Xegn7Vu8
The digital zines are new this year, and are set up to be submission-only, where the anthology is a limited-run printed zine and has a full application and creation period process. Both are open to international creators, and have information docs explaining the submission guidelines, process, and zine themes.
On top of these, I’m also participating as a contributor in a couple of fan zines and have begun work on my children’s books, a retelling on Swan Lake/the Seven Swan Maidens. I mention both because my version will blend components of the old tales with the modern version. Researching into the different swan to maiden stories was a bit of a process, but I have a rough script outlined and have begun sketching my princess- I will post some sneak peeks for patrons soon.
The other thing I hope to accomplish this season is a bit of shop updating on Etsy. I recently unearthed some leftover stickers of some of my first designs, and it was obvious they could use a little refresh. The old stickers will go into mystery bags and I’ll be working on posting updated versions. I also am working on a line of cute cats & plants designs to bring a new collection to the shop.
